Why I Haven't Been Here Lately
The real reason I haven't been here lately is that I'm taking a vacation from the blog, but since it is a weekend I checked in to see that the blog really was still here. Yes, I guess I miss it, but I don't regret my decision to take a break. It will still be a while yet, before I get back to normal. Until then check out my old favorite:
"My November Guest" by Robert Frost
My Sorrow, when she’s here with me,
Thinks these dark days of autumn rain
Are beautiful as days can be;
She loves the bare, the withered tree;
She walks the sodden pasture lane.
Her pleasure will not let me stay.
She talks and I am fain to list:
She’s glad the birds are gone away,
She’s glad her simple worsted gray
Is silver now with clinging mist.
The desolate, deserted trees,
The faded earth, the heavy sky,
The beauties she so truly sees,
She thinks I have no eye for these,
And vexes me for reason why.
Not yesterday I learned to know
The love of bare November days
Before the coming of the snow,
But it were vain to tell her so,
And they are better for her praise.

I hope you are enjoying your vaction from the blog. Hang in there we are all pulling for you.
Hey Scott, thank you very much. (I don't know if you noticed, but that was my Elvis impersonation. Not bad, eh?)
Seriously it's good to hear from you, my ole' friend. Those are kind words. You, sir, are much appreciated! If you drop by again and you're in the mood fill me in on how it's going for you and yours. (Fortunately blogging is a very private means of communication, what?) If not then one of these days soon, I'll look you up, Captain. Talk to you later, buddy.
